Vibrating Higher

In my experience in my entire life (so far), and awakening into my existence, how did I "repent", "change", be "closer to The Divine", and become more "spiritual"?

I guess, I could credit it to the twice "awakening" stress of happenstance I have experienced/encountered --both of which brought and made me delve into myself --my shadows, my darkness, my "evilness", my undesired-ness mess of human character, personality, actions, values, and etc.; made me examine myself on why I did what I did, on why I said what I said, and why I thought what I thought.

We are all made up and developed of lessons and teachings from our environment (family, relatives, friends, co-workers, government, societal norms and practices, church/religion we are indoctrinated in, media, et al.). But I believe what we and our higher self aspire to be should be our inner guidance, our inner compass that points to the most high: The Divine, God, and our True North. This is where the idea of knowing yourself is important and the desire to be the the best version of yourself is crucial.

The value of understanding, empathy, compassion, and patience that each one of us are unique and different, from our character, personality, et al. to our dreams, desires, and actions differ from each other. Thus, our True North, our desired higher self, might differ from each other as well. Yet we must understand and empathize each other, and have compassion and patience for each other.

Despite these, we all should vibrate and elevate higher (individually, and collectively) in love towards God's or The Divine's truth and love.

We are all taught basic human decency and good character --we are all created inherently good; in God's image and likeness. But we are not perfect from the basic and general rules that governs our society. We should reverently continue to examine ourselves --did our actions, the words we spoke, the thoughts we thought, align with them? Is there any way we can improve on them. If it is undesired action or thought on our part, can it be eliminated, diminished, or at the least, minimize? We are not perfect mind you--so lets also give ourselves grace.

I think the first step of repentance is examining one's self. Then, the next could be hard because you would humble yourself, get rid of your pride and ego, and face the backlash that you might encounter people that might not forgive you and/or who might not believe your change/repentance from your past "bad" behavior or habit.

If it was light, it would be easy or easier. But if the past behavior or habit was deeply ingrained, it would be harder to unlearn, and also might also be harder to "convince them".

There should also be changed behavior. First, you could ask for forgiveness to the people you have hurt if you can, if you want or if you must. And if not, you can go straight to changing your behavior. For me, the fact of changing your behavior, and you continue to strive to be the best version of yourself, is in fact already your way of vibrating and elevating higher in love towards God, The Divine.

The continuous cycle of self reflection, awareness, understanding will elevate you spiritually, will get you closer to The Divine, and ultimately make you a better person, that will also make or help the universe be a better place to live in.
